More details on the recently revealed South Park game have come out, confirming that Ubisoft won't be involved in its development.
Bloomberg previously reported that a new "3D" South Park game was in development, but noted that it wasn't clear who was making the game itself. In a small update as part of the Bloomberg newsletter, Jason Schreier provided an update on who is developing the next South Park title.

In the newsletter, Jason said, "One nugget of news from our colleagues on the Hollywood beat: South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone are making a new video game (in addition to a whopping 14 new movies). The game is under development by an in-house studio, Stone told Bloomberg’s Lucas Shaw in an email. The previous two games, both well-received role-playing games, were published by Ubisoft Entertainment SA, which did not respond to a request for comment."
This news comes from one of the South Park creators, Matt Stone, and is arguably the biggest piece of information we have so far. Beyond that, we know that it's going to be "3D", which does raise some questions as to how the series' iconic style is going to be translated.
The choice to go with an in-house studio is a curious one considering the last two South Park games were made in collaboration with Ubisoft. The Stick of Truth and The Fractured But Whole were both incredibly well received and sold well, so it seems like an obvious choice to stick with it and keep making games. The Stick of Truth was developed with Obsidian, whilst The Fractured But Whole was made by a team at Ubisoft.
The mention of the game being 3D implies that it might actually be going in a different direction to the South Park games we've received so far. Both titles were RPGs that aimed to replicate the style of the show, but it's looking like whatever's coming next is going to change things up and aim for a different style.
