The Yakuza spin-off Lost Judgment has just received a brand new trailer courtesy of Sega. It features a look at the enhanced parkour, new minigames such as robot wars, stealth takedowns, and more.
The parkour segments show Takayuki Yagami scaling the sides of buildings, grabbing onto bars to swing over large gaps, and even wall running in the midst of on-foot chases where he hops from the roofs of cars in the street. However, while the more gameplay-oriented features are being amped up – like the real-time fighting, continuing Yakuza's traditional approach while the main series turns to turn-based – the zany and outlandish elements are also present.

You can walk a dog, wear disguises like Agent 47, customize your moped for races, take part in skateboarding tournaments, have dance-offs with high schoolers, partake in miniature robot wars, play other SEGA games, and even get in the ring for your own boxing matches as Yagami.
It's a spin-off but Lost Judgment looks as Yakuza as they come, only there are a lot of detective elements. For instance, we see Yagami using drones, wandering around and taking photographs, spying on people, using strange gadgets, solving puzzles, and lockpicking in a minigame akin to Oblivion.
There are even stealth takedowns meaning you can sneak about and get the upper hand on unsuspecting foes rather than getting into the usual brawl. We see Yagami lob something small to distract a guard before putting him into a chokehold.
When he's in the action, though, it's the same ol' Yakuza beats with a touch of refinement and even counter attacks that let you make the baddies trip over themselves. There's also a new and improved dialogue interface and a usable mobile phone.
Lost Judgment, the sequel to the Yakuza spin-off Judgment, launches September 9, 2021.
