Despite its release in 2020, Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad, a free-to-play mobile game, will shut down all of its servers.
After the release of XDefiant, everything seemed incredible in the Tom Clancy universe, but Ubisoft brought the party to a close with the closure of one of their most recent smartphone games, Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad. In the summer of 2020, we were able to begin testing this free-to-play game that brought together characters from sagas such as Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, The Division, and Splinter Cell, but the French company, via an emotional message on the game’s website, announced the end of this brief but entertaining game set in the Tom Clancy universe.

A sad and disappointing “good-bye.”
“It is with a great deal of sadness that we are announcing we will no longer be releasing new content for Elite Squad. Today’s update will be our last, and on October 4th, 2021 we will shut the servers down.” Said the Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad team on the game’s official website.
“This was not an easy decision, but after exploring multiple options with our teams, we came to the conclusion that it was no longer sustainable. We want to assure you all that we really gave it our best, especially with big updates like Season 2, and it was a truly rewarding experience to work with you, our passionate community!” They added.
As stated in the announcement, the game’s servers will be shut down on October, but the team does not want to abandon the active players who have supported the game on a daily basis up to this point. Ubisoft’s Owlient, Elite Squad’s development team, has released the game’s most recent update today. New soldiers and events are arriving to enjoy the last few months of play. We can keep playing until we reach the maximum level of 70 and unlock all of the characters. We will not be able to enter after the shutdown begun.
Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad is temporarily available on iOS and Android, if you want to check it out, you can play the game until October 4.
