Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Season 5 launches next week, and for multiplayer fans, there is a whole lot of content on the way. Five new multiplayer maps are coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and the classic Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 map Slums is one of them.
Intriguingly, some of the maps that have leaked for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War are not featured in this Season. Recently, an accurate leak about the Operator Kitsune mentioned that Summit would be coming this Season. However, it is not one of the many maps on offer. The same could be said for Yemen and Plaza, though these maps were leaked by a reputable source and will likely be coming in Season 6. Either way, fans of classic maps should be excited to see that Slums is returning.

There are many maps that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 players loved, something that shows clearly via the massive number of BO2 remakes that have featured in the latest Black Ops title. One of the most popular locations to feature in the 2012 game was undoubtedly Slums, though, and the location is now coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. This marks the third game in a row where the map has been brought back, as it has also featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
While players will once again be doing battle around a statue in Panama, this is hardly the only map coming in Season 5. Another map that will debut alongside Slums next Season is Echelon. Featured in the Season 5 intro cinematic, the fighting will take place in a top-secret base that rests on a mountain top. Yet another map that will be dropping on August 12 is Showroom, a small location that will be exclusive to 2v2 and 3v3 playlists.
As always, some content is being held until the midseason update. However, while players only received the Rush map in Season 4 Reloaded, they will be seeing two more maps added with Season 5 Reloaded. Like Slums and Echelon, both maps will be aimed at 6v6 players. One will be a trimmed down version of the Zoo region from Outbreak, while another will take the form of a drive-in theater. Drive-In is another remake, as the original version was a DLC map in the very first Black Ops game.
With four of these five maps being aimed at 6v6 players, it seems like Treyarch listened to the complaints about a lack of 6v6 content in earlier Seasons. While it is unclear if Season 6 will deliver in the same way, Season 5 is bringing an impressive map lineup to enjoy.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
