Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Map to Thieves Camp Location (Melunois Mystery)

When Assassin's Creed Valhalla players get to Francia in the Siege of Paris DLC, they are immediately turned loose and set free to loot the countryside. The first region of Francia players explore is called Melunois, and just like other regions before it, it is packed full of wealth to collect and mysteries to solve. It won't be long before players find themselves in Pruvinis, a small fort which contains a few pieces of wealth and a mystery. After players manage to get the Pruvinis Armor Wealth and the ingot located here, the next step is to tackle this mystery. It involves a strange letter written by a thief

When Eivor arrives at Pruvinis, there's an indication that the fort had already been ransacked, albeit not completely. Weapons are found scattered about the entire fort, leading Eivor to conclude the thieves must have been looking for a specific weapon. That's when they find a note on a table that references an Ulfberht Sword, one of the new one-handed swords in Assassin's Creed Valhalla.

The note itself can be found inside of Pruvinis near a hole in the ground. Players should be able to simply follow the map marker to the nearby mystery, but just in case, here's a visual of where it is. There are also nearby investigation spots that give more insight on what's going on, but they aren't necessary to complete this Siege of Paris world event.

The note has a drawing depicting where the thieves camp is, but just like Assassin's Creed Valhalla's treasure horde maps, it isn't very accurate. The important thing to notice is the river and the bridge, as players will notice that this matches up to a spot on the actual map. Head north of Pruvinis to the location with some wealth and an artifact and players should find the thieves.

Inside the building with the large fountain, players will find the thieves, or what's left of them anyway. As it happens, the last one standing killed the rest of his crew in order to keep the sword for himself, and now it's up to Eivor to convince him to part with it. There are three ways to go about this:

  • Give me the sword, or else – Players with a Charisma stat of two or more can convince him to hand over the sword with ease. Successfully completing flyting matches raises Charisma.
  • I'll buy the sword (3,000) – Giving the thief 3,000 silver also resolves the issue without any violence.
  • I will fight you for the sword – This starts a fight, and it is surprisingly difficult. Despite the area being only level 200, this thief is much more powerful than that. It's definitely doable, but players will need to be prepared.

Assassins' Creed Valhalla is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
