Bandai Namco And Tropico Devs Announce Park Beyond, A New Theme Park Management Game

Limbic Entertainment is working on another management sim, but this time it's all about theme parks. Published by Bandai Namco, Park Beyond brings its amusement park managing thrills to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in 2022.

As a management sim with a story, Park Beyond hands over its keys to the failing Cloudstormers theme park, making you its new Visioneer. Veteran entertainer Phil joins you in your endeavors, serving as your technical aid as you breathe new life into the park through your ride designs. Your ride tester, Blaize, will help by advising on your attractions, while Izzy keeps the books straight with her business expertise.

The team Cloudstormers will put their engineering chops to test through a new term called Impossification, allowing you to create wild scenarios that may otherwise be a less than safe thrill ride experience. Bandai Namco's brief list of examples include fire-breathing roller coaster trains, guests flying across the map in cannons, and an enormous octopus that dunks your visitors into a giant fishbowl.

At Cloudstormers, you'll get the whole package. The park's survival relies on not only its twisting roller coasters and shocking attractions, but also on its shops, concessions, shows, and decorations. You can also expect the typical staples of the genre, like guest data that tracks their happiness and feedback on what parts of your park are the most (and least) popular.

Park Beyond's story mode isn't the only place you can build, either. For those of you not as eager to deal with the hustle and bustle of daily park life, you can jump into Sandbox mode to play. In its creative free-for-all, Park Beyond lets you explore and push its attractions to the limit, even giving you the option to jump in and see some of your rides the way your guests experience them.

Bandai Namco is staying busy, as Park Beyond wasn't its only recent reveal. The publishing giant also released a new House of Ashes story trailer during Gamescom Opening Night Live with developer Supermassive Games. Bandai Namco is also working on another Ace Combat, while its next entry to the Tales Of series, Tales of Arise, just got a demo.
