Best Gaming Deals Of The Week: Final Fantasy And Summer Sales

We share a rather expensive hobby, so every week, TheGamer will round up some of the team’s favorite deals from the week to share. We cover it all – PC games to mobile, hardware, and merch from some of your favorite series. This week, we’ve got deals on Square’s Final Fantasy 7 Remake, big PSN price cuts, and new goodies to add to that physical gaming library.

Back To The Lifestream

Final Fantasy 7’s 2020 Remake is beloved to several TG staffers, including our very own Jade King who praised its Yuffie-focused DLC, Intergrade. If you haven’t played it yet, now is the perfect time if you’re in the UK, as Amazon has it for a massive price cut at just £20. It’s the PlayStation 4 version, but as we’ve explained in more detail, you can still use this version to get free access to the PlayStation 5 edition.

The PlayStation Network

Old, new, co-op, and single-player, the PSN is currently holding a summer sale that’s sporting over 900 titles with up to 75 percent off. Favorites like Final Fantasy 14’s Shadowbringers has made the cut, with 60 percent slashed from its usual price. Mortal Kombat, Far Cry 5, and Star Wars: Fallen Jedi have massive deals going on, and Atlus’ beloved Person 5 has DLC bundled and marked down. With such a massive selection, it’s probably worth browsing even if you’re busy with other titles.

The Critically Acclaimed MMO Where You C–

I won’t give you the entire copypasta spill, but if you’re seeking Final Fantasy 14 outside of the PSN, there’s an even better deal. The Complete Edition – which includes the base game, every single expansion, and a trial – is available for $23.99. Considering Shadowbringers alone usually costs way more than that, it’s an excellent deal. It’s almost the same price as the usual base game + Heavensward. If you want to prep for Endwalk, you should grab it ASAP.

Prepare For More Rabbids

Best Buy is a bit of a go-to, since I personally collect points on deals when I can – yes, I’m the obnoxious coupon clipper in your life. In excellent personal news, I just picked up Rabbids myself for $19.99, since games I want on Switch never seem to go on sale. It’s typically $40 more, but I got it by using Best Buy points with another $5 off, so it’s worth checking out those old account bonuses and seeing if you can get an oldie, but goodie, on the cheap side.

GameStop Takes The PlayStation Sale Physical

I don’t really do digital games except when forced – hello, PC Gaming – so I prefer GameStop’s take on the aforementioned PSN sale. GameStop is marking down both PlayStation 4 and 5 games if you care to pick up a disc-based copy, with new games like Returnal cut down by $20. There’s also a couple of extra goodies, like the HD camera for PlayStation 5, but this list is drastically smaller than the former, so you may be hard-pressed to find what you wanted when compared to the digital sale.
