Borderlands 3 Celebrates Second Anniversary With Loot The Universe Event

It's hard to imagine that it's already been almost two years since the contentious launch of Borderlands 3 on the Epic Games Store. Since then, the game has lived up to its promise to bring Borderlands into the live-service genre with tons of events, tons of DLC, constant balance tweaks, and a brand new crossplay function so you can play Borderlands with all your buddies across PC and consoles (except for PlayStation).

As we approach September 13, Gearbox is celebrating their big baby with five weeks of mini-events. Starting today, the always beloved Loot the Universe event will make it easier for you to scrounge your preferred Legendary gear from various planets around the Borderlands 3 universe.

As with previous Loot the Universe events, each week will focus on a single planet that has an increased chance to drop Legendary loot. Specific zones on that planet will focus further on specific types of loot, with a single zone dedicated to dropping Pistols, Shotguns, SMGs, Assault Rifles, Sniper Rifles, or Heavies. Some zones will additionally drop Class Mods, Artifacts, Shield Mods, or Grenade Mods too.

Gearbox only told us which planets will have increased loot drops each week, so players will have to discover which zones drop which loot throughout the event. Stay tuned to your favorite Borderlands 3 streamers, social media, or the Borderlands 3 subreddit to see which zone drops what loot.

As for the planetary schedule, we have it listed below for your convenience.

  • Week 1 (9:00 AM PT August 12 to 8:59 AM PT August 19) – Pandora
  • Week 2 (9:00 AM PT August 19 to 8:59 AM PT August 26) – Promethea
  • Week 3 (9:00 AM PT August 26 to 8:59 AM PT September 2) – Eden-6
  • Week 4 (9:00 AM PT September 2 to 8:59 AM PT September 9) – Nekrotafeyo

Also, starting on September 9 and running to September 16, two more mini-events will run simultaneously. Mayhem Made Mild will add Easy modifiers to everyone's favorite Mayhem Mode, while Show Me The Eridium increases Eridium drop rates everywhere while also providing discounts at Crazy Earl.
