Breath Of The Wild Player Creates Interactive Map Of Hyrule With Street View

Getting around the sprawling world of Hyrule can be a challenge in Breath of the Wild. From towering mountain ranges to rivers that cut through the heart of the map, you'll often find yourself backtracking and rethinking the route to your destination. However, that's all about to change, thanks to the Breath of the Wild Street View Map.

Created by Nassim Software, the new BOTW Street View Map works much like Google Maps. You can zoom in to identify specific roads, zoom out to view the overall lay of the land, and you can even visit specific locations with a bonafide Street View system. Several locations in Faron, Central Hyrule, Lanayru, and Gerudo can all be viewed as 360-degree panoramas. It's an impressive project, and one that its creator wasn't certain would have any appeal.

"When I started the project I knew that it could be popular but I had some doubts," Nassim said. "This project seems like the first of its kind and I hope that this will encourage other devs or regular people to do this street view thingy for other games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and so on."

There's still a lot that Nassim would like to add to the map, including more "location submissions to fill in the map." If you want to help, you can submit your own images through the BOTW Street View Map website – just make sure you watch the short video on how to do it properly.

Despite its growing popularity, the entire project took less than a week.

"It's hard for me to say the number of hours I worked on the project, but what I can tell you is I started around July 24 and finished it on July 29," Nassim told TheGamer. "The most time-intensive task was taking equirectangular screenshots of the game which was very tedious."
