Are the Cyberpunk 2077 Burns Starting to Heal?
A year ago today, the world was anxiously awaiting the greatest game of all time, Cyberpunk 2077. It was from the studio that made The Witcher 3 and we had seen trailers for, like the past eleven years for it at E3. How could it not be the best game ever?
When Cyberpunk did finally launch, it was like the Challenger rocket. It was perhaps one of the greatest disappointments in gaming history. For months afterward, no one could think of the game and not hear Johnny Cash singing Hurt.
Today, however, Cyberpunk 2077 actually holds a “very positive” and “mostly positive” user review score on Steam. As you may know, Steam’s reviewing system takes into account recent reviews and reviews since launch. The most recent reviews say that users are generally very happy with the game lately. It seems that the dumpster fire has cooled and players are finding what remains to be very enjoyable.
Recently, CDPR president Adam Kicinski declared that Cyberpunk 2077 would be regarded as “a very good game” eventually. It seems that day is closer than some of us expect. As some of you may know, the PS5/Xbox Series X|S upgrade had been delayed into 2022, but that is also just around the corner.
Cyberpunk is also 50% off on Steam right now, so it might be time to dive into it, if you haven’t yet done so. This whole Cyberpunk debacle has hopefully taught us all some lessons, both developers and fans alike. Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia. It is expected to come out on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in Q1 2022.
