Demon Slayer The Hinokami Chronicles Teases Tsuzumi Mansion Arc in New Trailer

Become the Blade That Destroys Demons

Hot on the heels of a brief next-gen gameplay showcase, Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles is giving players a sneak peek of one of the story arcs it’s adapting into Adventure Mode. The Demon Slayer manga and anime series are divided into 11 main arcs, with the final arc being divided into 2 sub-arcs, and the game is set to adapt the first 7, allowing players to relive everything up to the Mugen Train Arc–that’s the Infinity Train Arc in the west.

This trailer focuses on the 4th Arc, known as the Tsuzumi Mansion Arc, which follows Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke as they enter the mysterious and deadly Tsuzumi Mansion. The powerful demon Kyogai dwells here, and in order to take his head, Tanjiro must find a way to compensate for Kyogai’s ability to control the very architecture.

The video begins with a quick introduction to the house and the three main characters before plunging right into disorienting madness. Not only is the mansion changing around them, but Zenitsu rapidly begins to panic even before the demons show themselves.

The mansion itself is a winding maze of dark corridors and traditional Japanese architecture that make the character models and their vibrant colors pop out. The series’ bizarre and often surreal demon demons are captured faithfully, as are Zenitsu’s unexpected skill while unconscious and Tanjiro’s struggle to fight while the whole room is shifting around him.

Whether you’re more familiar with the anime or the manga renditions of this arc, it looks like Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles is doing an excellent job of portraying the fear and confusion of Kyogai’s power. It’s gonna be a ton of fun to try and get your feet under you even as the whole house rotates around you.

If you’re planning to pounce on this title, we recommend pre-ordering the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Hinokami Chronicles Digital Deluxe Edition. There’s a variety of bonus features only included in this pre-order bundle, plus you can start playing 2 days early.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba Hinokami Chronicles will be available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S|X on October 15th, 2021, or October 13th for players who pre-purchased the Digital Deluxe Edition.
