EA Motive Giving Fans An "Early Look" At Dead Space Remake Tomorrow

So far we saw very little of the new Dead Space remake, which was officially unveiled by EA Motive only a month ago. It seems the developers are ready to share some more details, as the team announced a special Dead Space livestream for August 31.

On Twitter, the studio announced it will host the event on the Motive Twitch channel on Tuesday, August 31 at 10 am PT / 1 pm ET. If you want to get a taste of the reimagining of the horror masterpiece, you probably should tune in at the specified time.

The showcase is meant to illustrate Motive’s vision of Dead Space in motion. While there was little information about what to expect tomorrow, the team teased “a very early look” at the development build. As usual in such cases, the demo will be featuring an early prototype of the game and does not represent the final product in any capacity.

During the event, creative director Roman Campos-Oriola and senior producer Philippe Ducharme will speak about their vision for the reborn Dead Space. Motive noted the studio is dedicated to creating the game alongside the Dead Space community, which is why some of the franchise’s biggest fans have been consulting on the project and will also make an appearance. Aside from fans, the original Dead Space team members have also consulted EA Motive.

As far as we know, the upcoming project will be somewhat of an extended remake built from scratch on the Frostbite engine for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The devs will use their creative freedom to add content that was cut from the original, as well as to include elements from Dead Space 2 and 3 to improve the overall experience. Moreover, art director Mike Yazijian earlier hinted that the game will get rid of some things that didn’t quite work before to “stay relevant to modern audiences.” We also knew the game will have no loading screens or microtransactions.

According to insider Jeff Grubb — who even called the project both a remake and a reboot of the franchise — the studio is targeting the fall of 2022 for Dead Space. As of now, EA did not officially announce the release window for the project — hopefully, we’ll learn more about it pretty soon.
