Exclusive: Godfall Fire and Darkness Valorplate Skins Revealed

Godfall was one of the PlayStation 5's launch titles, and one of the few games that was a pure next-gen exclusive at the time of its release. Now Godfall is expanding its horizons, coming to PlayStation 4 alongside the substantial Fire & Darkness expansion on August 10. The Godfall Fire & Darkness expansion will add brand new story content for players to slice their way through, and thanks to a collection of fresh Valorplate skins, fans will be able to see it all in style.

Game Rant can exclusively reveal seven new Valorplate skins that are coming to Godfall with the Fire & Darkness expansion. This includes Hinterclaw's Hellhound skin, Mesa's Child of Darkness skin, Moebius' Pride of the Monastery skin, Illumina's Frigid Vision skin, Aegishorn's Shield of the Depths skin, Typhon's Trap of the Tundra skin, and finally, Vertigo's Draconic Scripture skin. All of these new Godfall Valorplate skins are visually striking, with the standouts being Aegishorn's Shield of the Depths skin and Vertigo's Draconic Scripture Skin.

For those who may be unfamiliar with Counterplay's looter-slasher game, Godfall Valorplates are armor sets that players can equip while they're visiting the Sanctum between runs. The Valorplates, all themed after Zodiac signs, not only give players a different look, but they also have their own distinct stats and special abilities as well. Unlocking all of Godfall's Valorplates and their associated skins is definitely one of the most rewarding things one can do in the game, and so it's great that fans will have even more to add to their collection come the Fire & Darkness expansion.

Meanwhile, here are videos of Typhon's Trap of the Tundra and Vertigo's Draconic Scripture skins so fans have an idea of what they look like in motion:

The new Godfall Valorplate skins are certainly exciting, but fans of the game have even more to look forward to when the Fire & Darkness expansion rolls around. Besides the aforementioned PS4 release, Godfall is also getting matchmaking, which will address one of the biggest complaints critics had about the game at launch. The introduction of matchmaking to Godfall combined with the release of the PS4 port should make it easier than ever before for fans to properly experience everything that the looter-slasher has to offer.

It will be interesting to see if the Godfall PS4 port, the introduction of matchmaking, and the new content in the Fire & Darkness expansion helps push Godfall to new heights. In any case, fans of the game can look forward to seeing what the new content is all about and adding these impressive new Valorplate skins to their collection come August 10.

Godfall is out now for PC and PS5 with a PS4 version launching August 10.
