Ghost Of Tsushima Iki Island Expansion Is The Same Length As One Act In The Base Game

It seems Ghost of Tsushima’s upcoming expansion will be pretty meaty in terms of content. Sucker Punch Productions recently revealed the Iki Island DLC is about the size of the first act of the main game, meaning you'll have more than 10 hours of gameplay to work through.

In a new interview with Push Square, creative director Nate Fox said that Iki Island “is the size of, really, the first act of the main game, Izuhara.” According to Fox, the new region is massive and features a dense story, various landscapes, and numerous secrets to discover. The team strove to get the right feeling of exploration and discovery, moments of quiet and moments of violent tension.

Additionally, speaking to Press Start, senior staff writer Patrick Downs has added that the upcoming expansion will have the “variety and depth of content and playtime” analogous to a single act in the main game.

All of the above considering, Iki Island DLC will probably take at least 8-10 hours to beat and will likely extend to 20 hours if you aim for a 100% completion. Since the base Ghost of Tsushima is about 24-60 hours depending on your involvement, Iki Island is about 1/3 of that. Of course, fans should expect plenty of collectibles, side missions, and other optional activities for Jin Sakai on new territory. And you can tame even more animals there, cats and monkeys including, which is certainly a delight.

The Iki Island expansion is available once the player gets into the Second Act of a base game, yet you can also jump in right after you beat Ghost of Tsushima’s campaign. Iki’s difficulty will jump up for the players, who have already beaten all the challenges on Tsushima, the devs say, so everybody will get a suitable experience.

The Iki Island expansion is set to launch on August 20th and is included as part of the Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut available on PS4 and PS5.
