Launch titles have a hard time living on past the first year of a console's release, however, this probably won't be the case with Demon's Souls. This remake of FromSoftware's PS3 cult classic from Bluepoint Games became a great reason to own a PS5 from day one and is a must-have for anyone just picking up the system.

Unfortunately, there are still not enough PS5s to go around for everyone who wants one. If you are one of the lucky people who did get one, read below for a detailed breakdown of just how long it takes to beat Demon's Souls.
How Long Does It Take To Beat Demon's Souls?
It is difficult to say exactly how long a playthrough of Demon's Souls lasts considering the number of variables within the campaign. If you were able to just run through the levels with no resistance, it would really only take a couple of hours to get through the game.

However, Demon's Souls is brutally challenging by design. If you are an average player who gets stuck at all the classic spots and overcomes them in a normal manner, Demon's Souls should take about 24 hoursto beat. Of course, if you like to do a lot of the optional content, this can increase to about 34 hours.
How Is Demon's Souls Structured?
After the opening area and first boss, Demon's Souls opens up and lets you tackle the worlds in any order you wish. There are five worlds, or Archstones, in total, each with several subsections. Once you beat every world you unlock the final area and then the credits roll.
Even though the worlds are ordered, it does not mean you should tackle them that way. It is generally recommended to do one subsection of an Archstone at a time, though this order can change. If you are stuck on one part, leave and come back to it later once your character is stronger.
Tips For An Easier Playthrough
Even though Demon's Souls is hard, there are some simple steps you should follow to make the adventure more manageable:
- Do not restore human form too often. Dying as a human too often negatively affects world tendency
- Beginners should do a mage build
- Most bosses have an exploit that makes them easier
Additionally, you'll just get better as you play and understand enemy strategies.
How Long Does It Take To Platinum Demon's Souls?
Obtaining the platinum trophy in Demon's Souls is even harder to estimate than a single playthrough. You have to beat the game at least twice in order to get all the spells, and rescuing all the mages and merchants requires knowledge of the game world. You'll be looking at 55-60 hours for full completion.
To make things easier, just be sure to have white soul tendency, because having a negative world tendency and restoring it adds exponentially to playtime.
