How To Build And Move Villager Houses In Hokko Life

Because Hokko Life is a community simulation game, it's important to have houses. As you progress through your days in the small town, you'll find new villagers at the Inn who want to move in. However, they won't move in unless you've built the perfect house for them.

There are up to 24 available villagers that you can recruit into your town. The area you have to work with is pretty small compared to that number. Things will start to get crowded or you may put a house in the wrong location by accident. There will also be a content update adding farming into Hokko Life. Because of this, it's safe to say that you'll need to rearrange houses a few times to make space for more life.

Building Houses In Hokko Life

To even begin building houses, you need the Realtor shop. This is a shop owned by the NPC Rosa, who can be found at the Inn during the evenings along with other villagers. Once you convince Rosa to move in, she will set up her Realtor shop, allowing you to build and customize houses.

There are up to four different styles of houses. They all have different requirements you need to meet to be able to build them, such as pricing and materials. You'll need around 600 maximum coins and a couple of stone and wood planks.

Once you have everything you need, you can speak to Rosa and select your house of choice. This brings you and Rosa to the meadow where you'll choose a place for the house to be built. Usually, this is a big decision. But after community suggestions, Wonderscope has added in the ability to move houses after placing them.

How To Move A House In Hokko Life

Moving a house is pretty simple. All you have to do is interact with the white signpost outside of any house. This will show you the current customization the house has equipped and who currently lives there. It also gives you the option to demolish the house, evict the resident, or move the house entirely.

Moving houses in Hokko Life costs nothing, so you can do it at free will. This way, your decision will never be set in stone and there's always room for more redecorating when needed. You only have a small area to put 24 villagers in and Sally's workshop cannot be moved. With the future farming update coming soon, you'll need space to plant loads of crops. Whether you're super into redecorating or not, it will become mandatory to move houses eventually.

Evicting a villager removes them from the house and town so that you may take the house for yourself or move in a different villager. The evicted villager can be moved back into town at any time, given they have a valid house to move into.

You can customize houses by changing their walls and roof riling to different colors and materials. These different walls and roof tiles are sold at Rosa's Realtor shop and change weekly. Just like furniture at Moss' store, you'll have to wait for a good item to pop up that week.

Villager Home Basics

Villagers will only move into town if the house you built for them has a light source and a bed. Some players prefer to steal these items from their starting villager's houses so that they don't have to craft things from scratch. That's one way to go about it.

The other way to go about it is to craft everything from scratch. A light source is easier to get than a bed because you can buy a blueprint for a paper lantern and craft a whole lantern instead of making a lamp with a light bulb yourself. The paper lantern blueprint can be bought from Sally.

To build a bed, all you really need is the bed blueprint from Sally. Realistically, you can throw a bunch of shapes together in a bed blueprint and call it a day. It would glitch into the characters and not look pretty, but it would be labeled as a bed. To make a pretty bed, you should also buy a pillow blueprint and the pillow pieces blueprint from Sally. Utilize basic shapes like squares, paint them, and add a pillow. You could also play the waiting game of finding a premade lamp and bed at Moss' store.

Villagers will often have requests for you. Some of these will entail crafting furniture from scratch or redoing their entire house. When it comes to redoing their house, they will explain it in a vague way. If they haven't specifically asked for a table or a chair but rather to spruce up their house, you have to buy and craft multiple things. Not only will you have to insert a furniture item, but you'll have to change the outside customization of the house as well.
