Fallout 4's Far Harbor expansion added a lot of new content to an already expansive area. In this expansion, there are new weapons exclusive to Far Harbor and new quests for Fallout players to experience. One of these quests can be easily missed if you're not careful enough, and this is the "Witch Hunt" quest.

The "Witch Hunt" quest involves the Sole Survivor investigating a member of The Children Of Atom for possible disloyalty towards the group. If left unchecked, this disloyalty could potentially spell doom for The Children of Atom and its morale. Here is how you can complete the Witch Hunt quest in Fallout 4.
Where And How To Activate The Witch Hunt Quest
"Witch Hunt" can be initiated in the Vessel section of the Nucleus, which is where the Children of Atom make their home on the Island. "Witch Hunt" is part of the overarching questline "What Atom Requires", which serves as a checklist for a number of optional side quests.
Speak to High Confessor Tektus to see if he has any work for you and to begin the quest.
What The Witch Hunt Quest Entails
High Confessor Tektus will hand you a note saying that he is investigating Sister Aubert for being disloyal to the Children of Atom and wants you to find proof of her disloyalty.
- From here you can head to her quarters aboard the Vessel.
- Inside, you can find a note from Edgar, which can be found hidden under a mattress nestled between its corner and the table. It appears to reveal the two are romantically involved.
- The note will point you in the direction of the footlocker key that can be found behind a bench in the Nucleus inside the locker closest to the exit to the Island.
- Use this key to open Edgar and Aubert's footlocker to find Aubert's note. This note was written by Aubert and has her denouncing the High Confessor by accusing him of having Edgar killed. The note also seems to hint that Aubert may plan to kill Tektus as revenge.
-
From here, you have a set of options as to how you can finish the Witch Hunt quest.
- You can either go straight to Tektus and hand the note over to him, or you can go to Aubert and confront her about the note.
- Taking the second option will have Aubert plead with you to hand over the note so she can destroy it. From here, you can either tell her to run, bribe her and receive 95 caps, hand the note over, or withhold the decision entirely.
- Regardless of what you decide to do with Aubert, you will have to go to Tektus to finish "Witch Hunt". If you wish to protect Aubert, you will have to lie and pass a medium Charisma perk check. If this fails, you can still lie without a speech check and say no evidence was found, provided you handed over the note to Aubert beforehand.
Consequences Of Witch Hunt
- If you handed the note over to Tektus, then you will receive 350 exp and the Inquisitor's cowl headpiece for finishing "Witch Hunt" but at the cost of seemingly sealing Aubert's doom.
- You will still receive both rewards even if you convinced Tektus that Aubert was loyal, however, failing the speech check means you only receive the exp but not the cowl.
- As for companions, they generally like it if you choose to protect Aubert instead of selling her out to Tektus with Cait being the exception to this.
