It was Wario time, as the mustached antagonist took over Nintendo’s Twitter and released a new trailer for WarioWare: Get It Together.
Wario – one of the most beloved characters of the Mario franchise – gave fans a closer look into the much anticipated new release, WarioWare: Get It Together, when he took over Nintendo of Europe’s Twitter account yesterday.
There were nine tweets authored by Wario, which all included images, clips and the trailer from the upcoming release. It appears the muscular Mario foil even went so far as to change the bio on the page. The takeover was short lived, ending with a tweet stating, “…I better jetpack out of here before that social media chump gets back! So long, suckers!" and everything was soon changed back to its default information on the page.

The full two minute trailer – which can be viewed in its entirety on Nintendo’s YouTube channel – is narrated by the sometimes villain, sometimes anti-hero himself. In typical Wario fashion, he insults own crew – who he refers to as “chumps” – picks his nose and farts while simultaneously ripping his pants and doing an almost split atop two Joy-Con controllers.
WarioWare: Get It Together has over 200 minigames that can be played locally solo or with a friend. Online play is also available with up to four players. You can play Wario and his friends – some of who must be unlocked in story mode – are controlled through the use of the directional stick and only one button, with each character having their own distinctive abilities, actions, weapons and modes of transportation. Wario dashes and hovers through use of his jet pack, Ashley uses magic and rides a broom, Kat throws shuriken to the right, while Ana throws them to the left. There are 14 confirmed characters as of now – one being Wario.
It seems Wario has been “Mr. Popular” in the news lately. A few weeks ago, Mario Kart tour added Cowboy Wario as a playable character, as well as Nabbit. Additionally, Dr. Baby Wario was announced as the next addition to the game – Dr. Mario World.
WarioWare: Get It Together is currently available for pre-order for $49.99 and is set to release on Nintendo Switch Friday, September 10, 2021. A free demo is available for download in Nintendo’s eShop.
