Alright, we need to have a serious discussion today. BioWare just released a bunch of statistics for Mass Effect Legendary Edition and it has been brought to my attention that y'all are just letting Mordin die in Mass Effect 2. That is unacceptable.
Of the 12 possible companions in Mass Effect 2, Mordin came in dead last of the squadmates most likely to survive. Garrus being the most likely to keep breathing makes sense since he's easily everyone's favorite alien life partner, but Mordin? The adorable scientist Salarian who cures the Genophage if you just keep him long enough to make it to Mass Effect 3? It's a travesty that Mordin Solus is so far down everyone else's priority list.
Besides having some absolutely hilarious quips to share in Mass Effect 2, Mordin brings heavy firepower very early on in the campaign. His Cryo Blast ability not only has the shortest cooldown of all follower abilities but is also extremely useful during the Suicide Mission to freeze and shatter Husks. He's a fast-talking super scientist that's a boon to every party.

Mordin coming last in Mass Effect 2 is probably the most controversial statistic BioWare shared in the infographic. The vast majority of players save Wrex and the Rachni Queen in Mass Effect 1, cure the Genophage and pardon Tali in Mass Effect 3, and ensure peace between the Quarians and the Geth. Over two-thirds of players punch the uppity reporter in the face, and literally no one could find that last Keeper to scan.
Although Tali was reportedly the most popular companion overall based on Steam Achievements, BioWare says the most popular squadmate in the first Mass Effect is the mast calibrator himself, Garrus. Perhaps not coincidentally, Garrus is also the most likely character to survive Mass Effect 2’s ending.
If you still haven't gotten into Mass Effect Legendary Edition, we got good news for you. EA is hosting a multi-platform sale on PlayStation, Xbox, and Origin right now, with Steam getting its own sale on July 29. And when you start playing, y’all better show Mordin some love.
