Massive Phasmophobia Update Includes New Ghosts, Sprint Overhaul, And New Equipment

Kinetic Games just dropped its latest Phasmophobia update, Exposition, and it's a big one. This latest patch includes two new ghosts, another piece of equipment, and tons of in-game adjustments guaranteed to net more reports of violence.

Ghost hunters will now have to face off against the Goryo and Myling, a creepy new addition that you may have seen teased earlier when Kinetic Games shared its preview of an enemy that's "quiet when hunting." The addition means that Phasmophobia's old evidence requirements needed to be reworked, so now some of those signs you had memorized may have changed.

The types of spookies aren't all that's new, either. You'll now have access to the new DOTS Projector, and electronic equipment will also react to a ghost hunt. If you've got something turned on when demons give chase, it'll start beeping and give your position away. All of Phasmophobia's electronic tools have been reworked with these new sounds and visuals. Also, the Parabolic Mic allows you to hear "paranormal sounds" now—so that's horrifying.

You'll be faster in this update, too, but so will the ghosts. Phasmophobia's sprint function has been reworked, so now you can go faster for three seconds before hitting the five-second recharge timer. As for walking, your old sprint speed is now the normal walking pace, so we will no longer be leisurely jogging away from Banshees. All of this is great news when you're running away, but the ghosts now react to hunts quicker and don't give you as much time to climb into a toilet stall.

As for other minor changes, Phasmophobia has seen updates to its lighting, sounds, and textures. Your glowsticks got nerfed, but other equipment, like the Spirit Box, should be easier to use. UI adjustments and VR functionality should also have some noticeable, quality of life improvements. Everything else, like minor bug fixes, is listed on Phasmophobia's store page.
