More Possible PS Plus Games Leak Ahead of September Reveal

With August coming to a close that means it is again time to speculate what the included free games for Sony’s PlayStation Plus service will be for September 2021. As of late, Sony has been releasing two PS4 games and a single PS5 title for PlayStation Plus subscribers on the first Tuesday of every month. At this point in time, Sony has not officially revealed what September’s PS Plus titles will be, despite the company generally making an announcement on the last Wednesday of a given month.

Still, that hasn’t stopped determined leakers from finding and releasing what they believe will be the upcoming games. Recently, a leak hinted that the expected titles were to be The Medium, Haven, and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, but these hopeful PS Plus titles were proven false when the developer of The Medium, Bloober Team, quickly debunked that theory. FIST: Forged in Shadow Torch, a new Metroidvania featuring a cyborg rabbit has also been picked out by fans as being a likely PS Plus title, as it is set to release on September 7th, the first Tuesday of the month, which is common for PS5 PlayStation Plus titles.

Despite FIST: Forged in Shadow Torch being a highly possible candidate for a PS Plus title, a poster on the French website Dealabs has another theory. User Billbil-kun has made a post on the website in which they state what they believe will be the upcoming free PS Plus titles for September: Overcooked: All You Can Eat for PS5, Hitman 2, and Predator: Hunting Grounds on PS4.

The PS5 title, Overcooked: All You Can Eat is a fun, silly party game containing content from the first two Overcooked titles. Hitman 2 is the second entry in IO Interactive’s stealth assassin sandbox series, and Predator: Hunting Grounds is an asymmetrical multiplayer shooter where players can play as part of a fireteam or the titular Predator hunting them.

While Dealabs is a community-driven site, moderators do verify information on posts made there. If a post cannot be verified, it is removed from the site. It is unknown how Dealabs makes these verifications, but the site has been correct on PlayStation Plus leaks and other information in the past, so it is possible that Billbil-kun’s PS Plus predictions are correct.

Of course, a leak is just a leak until proven right, and fans have already had one set of possible PS Plus games debunked already this month. Nothing is official until Sony makes the final announcement. Fans will likely know what the upcoming PlayStation Plus free games are by September 1st, and they should be available to play on September 7th.
