Snorlax is probably one of the first new Pokemon you'll encounter after booting up New Pokemon Snap's recent update, although getting to it isn't quite as straightforward as you might think. While you can likely see it through a gap between two boulders, your camera won't actually register shots of it from there – you'll need to get quite a bit closer for that.
Fortunately, getting to Snorlax isn't actually that hard – it's just not particularly obvious. Given that there are only three new Pokemon in Secret Side Path – Snorlax, obviously, as well as Shroomish and Foongus – you'll probably want to make quick work of this course before moving on to the likes of Mightyside River and Barren Badlands.

If you're struggling to find Snorlax and want to add it to your Photodex, you're in luck. We've been playing tons of New Pokemon Snap's latest update and have figured out exactly how to get to the sleeping giant in its little napping spot. Here's everything you need to know about how to reach Snorlax in New Pokemon Snap.
New Pokemon Snap: How To Reach Snorlax
The first thing you'll need to do is complete a run of the new Secret Side Path map in order to familiarize yourself with the layout. To do this, boot up Florio Nature Park (Day) and make your way through the course as normal. After clearing the first area – by which I mean moving past where Heracross is clinging to a tree – move towards the second section of the map. After reaching the turn for Bidoof's Dam on the right, start spamming your scanner while looking towards your left. Before you reach the long grass where Shaymin is sleeping, you should see a tree with a hole in its stump – this is the turn for the all-new alternate route, Secret Side Path.
After opting to take the turn, the NEO-ONE will shrink down to a microscopic size. The first Pokemon you'll see is Wurmple, although Scorbunny and Pichu are right around the corner. After they're scared off by Dodrio, make your way through the course as per usual. At the end of Secret Side Path, you'll emerge at the meadow marking the end of Florio Nature Park. After going back to the main menu, you'll realize that you can now head straight to Secret Side Path from the world map.
Select Secret Side Path and remember where you first saw Scorbunny and Pichu. After Dodrio scares them away, it will pursue them through some long grass. Use your scanner here and you'll unlock an alternate route to follow Dodrio along. This leads to Snorlax's lair, where you can get up close and personal with Pokemon's illustrious sleeping giant. Snap a few photos of it and you'll successfully add it to your Photodex. Unfortunately, we haven't quite figured out how to snag that coveted four-star photo yet, but we'll update this guide appropriately once we do.
