Nintendo Teases New Merchandise For Universal Studios Hollywood

On Twitter yesterday afternoon, Nintendo revealed that Universal Studios Hollywood would be the next park to receive Super Nintendo World in the future. Recently opened this past year in Osaka, Japan, plans seem to be moving along nicely for the park's eventual opening in the United States. While we don't have any potential window for when that might happen (apart from the previously announced 2022), Nintendo isn't waiting on selling merchandise for the theme park.

Teased on Nintendo of America's Twitter account was a variety of items that are now available at Universal Studios in Hollywood, CA. These include plushies of Mario and Yoshi, some pull-string bags with Mario and Peach, and plush hats of the two brothers. It's mostly items you can already get either online or at Nintendo NYC, but it's still cool to see.

If you're wondering why California is next up to get Super Nintendo World, it mostly comes down to the logistical planning for things. In Hollywood, Super Nintendo World will be an addition to the already existing park. In Orlando, FL, Super Nintendo World will be one of the premier attractions of the upcoming Universal's Epic Universe park. It should be ready by 2024 if you needed to cry a little today.

For the time being, this bit of Nintendo merch will only be available in Hollywood. Before long, we'll see Mario grace Florida and then Nintendo's takeover of Universal will be complete. I'm excited to see what can happen with this park once it gets freed from the space constraints that exist in Japan.
