Overwatch Cosplayer Recreates Ashe’s Pancake Spray In Real Life

Sprays in Overwatch are one of the many ways players can express themselves, with gamers often making fun combinations in the waiting rooms prior to a match kicking off. One Overwatch fan is particularly fond of Ashe’s pancake spray, with the player remaking the spray in a real-life restaurant.

During Ashe’s Deadlock Challenge, players were able to unlock some special rewards for the outlaw. While the in-game unlocks featured a profile icon, spray, and skin, a few extra sprays could be acquired from watching partnered streams. These took the form of chibi versions of McCree and Ashe, both wearing their Deadlock attires. A cute Bob spray also featured, though the most popular has undoubtedly been the pancake Ashe spray. Redditor mercurygin_ proved to be particularly fond of this item, as they have recreated it in real life.

While there have been some terrific Ashe cosplays focused on her default look, this one focuses on her Deadlock attire. The same outfit that players were able to unlock last month, and the one worn by Ashe in the Deadlock Gang’s early days, mercurygin_ looks terrific in the red jacket. A Deadlock gang pin can be seen on the front of the outfit, while the fan is wearing one black glove just like the popular criminal. As expected, a white wig is worn, with the cosplayer also donning Ashe’s stylish hat from the costume. The yellow rim on the hat is spot-on, while the Deadlock insignia appears once again on the headwear.

Rather than just sharing a cosplay that captures one of Ashe’s special skins, though, the fan makes the photo stand out more by actually posing alongside some pancakes. While the meal is covered in berries as opposed to syrup, and mercurygin_ smiles instead of having her mouth open, everything else about the spray recreation is accurate. The cosplayer even holds a knife and fork in the same hands as Ashe does in the original spray.

While this would have been a clever idea if the cosplayer captured the photo inside their own home, what makes it even better is the fact that the photo was taken inside a diner. The Redditor even managed to find a spot that looks familiar to Route 66’s diner. While the wooden walls are a bit different, the fact that they are completely covered in photographs and decorations should feel familiar. Likewise, the booth that the Ashe fan is sitting in is red and white, with the seat boasting the exact same color scheme as the one in the game’s diner.

If the Overwatch community ever wanted to know what Ashe’s pancake spray would look like in real life, they now have their answer. With some other Deadlock Ashe sprays to recreate, it will be interesting to see if mercurygin_ shares any more.

Overwatch is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
