Pokemon GO Mega Beedrill Raid Guide

The August 2021 Legendary and Mega Raid Schedule is almost finishing, but there are still a few more exciting bosses for Pokemon GO trainers to take down. The latest rotation for the Mega lineup appeared earlier this weekend and presents a tough battle for raiders to tackle.

The Mega Beedrill Battle Raid is available now in Pokemon GO, but trainers are going to want to act quickly to take advantage of this opportunity before the boss rotates away. As always, players won’t actually catch Mega Beedrill during the reward encounter, but they will get a chance to rack up some valuable Mega Candy that can help them gain that evolution temporarily in the future.

Just like regular Beedrill, Mega Beedrill is a Bug- and Poison-type, which means that it has a variety of weaknesses for trainers to capitalize on. Ideally, players should focus on fielding a counter roster full of Fire, Flying, Rock and Psychic-type attacks…

When Is Mega Beedrill Available?

Mega Beedrill will appear in Mega Raids for the first time from Friday, August 20, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. to Thursday, August 26, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Best Mega Beedrill Counters

  • Mega Y Charizard – Fire Spin/Burn Blast
  • Mewtwo – Confusion/Psystrike
  • Mega X Charizard – Fire Spin/Blast Burn
  • Reshiram – Fire Fang/Overheat
  • Mega Gengar – Lick/Psychic
  • Mega Pidgeot – Gust/Brave Burn
  • Moltres – Fire Spin/Sky Attack
  • Rampardos – Smack Down/Rock Slide

As always, trainers shouldn’t be worried if they can’t field a roster full of this many Mega Evolution and Legendary Pokemon. The main thing to keep in mind is exploiting Mega Beedrill’s weaknesses by hitting it with the best Fire, Flying, Rock and Psychic-type attacks available. Don’t be afraid to burn through some TMs, Stardust, or Rare Candy to help prepare the roster and avoid any failed attempts at this battle.

That should be just about everything players know about how to take down this Battle Raid boss, but we should learn more about what other events will be arriving during the end of the Season of Discovery soon. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
