In this guide, we're breaking down everything you need to do in order to complete the Psychic Sidekick Request. This Request involves Magikarp, Aipom, and Psyduck, which is a hell of a combo. You'll need to complete several tasks in order to get the pictures you need to complete this Request, but follow our instructions below and you'll know everything you need to get the best possible snap.

How To Complete The Psychic Sidekick Request – New Pokemon Snap

First, you need to enter the Mightywide River stage during Day, and on Research Level 2 – this won't work on Research Level 3.

Go through the first portion of the stage, just past where Feraligator emerges from the water. In the river before the waterfall, you should be able to spot a Magikarp with its fin poking out of the water – hit it with an Illumina Orb to make it submerge, and then hit it again to make it flop onto the land.

Now focus your attention onto the land. You should've already seen a Psyduck being chased by a pack of three Aipom. Psyduck will crash into a tree, with the three Aipom surrounding it – you've got to chase them away. Throw your Fluffruit at the Aipom, and if you hit each of them they'll run away, leaving the Psyduck alone.

If you have both the Magikarp on the land, and the Psyduck has been freed from Aipom tyranny, then Psyduck will approach the Magikarp on the land after, and start using its psychic abilities to lift it, and forcefully put it back into the water – a bit hostile, honestly.

As Psyduck activates its psychic abilities, you need to take this moment to take some good shots of both Psyduck and the Magikarp. This moment will offer four-star photographs for both Pokemon – you may have already got a different four-star snap of Magikarp from elsewhere, but this is the only way to get Psyduck's four-star picture currently in the game, so make the most of it.

Once you head back to Professor Mirror, make sure to hand in the correct Psyduck picture. Luckily, the latest update has made it so you can see which photographs count towards clearing a Request – nice.
