You might have been playing Bandai Namco's brand new Scarlet Nexus lately, but what you might not know – and what I certainly wasn't aware of before today – is that Scarlet Nexus also has an anime premiering alongside this release. The Scarlet Nexus anime is a faithful retelling of the game's story, and makes for a nice companion piece.
Scarlet Nexus is a darn good game if our review by Jade King is to be believed (it is), where Jade stated; "Combat is excellent yet not without its flaws, while the story being told and characters you encounter don’t have nearly enough depth to feel emotionally resonant. The potential for something brilliant is here, but much like Code Vein before it, this is a game that seems determined to stop itself from achieving something truly special."

In addition to having a fun anime series to watch, anyone tuning in to Scarlet Nexus will also be able to find and redeem codes for use in the game, which will unlock new content, such as items and enemies – though the full extent of what we can expect hasn't been revealed yet.

How To Watch Scarlet Nexus Anime Free Online
If you want to watch anime online for free, your options are usually restricted either to waiting until Crunchyroll has a low-quality free version of what you want to watch – which is ad supported too, of course – of you can opt for a far more dodgy and illegal way of doing things, which we won't suggest here.
Unfortunately Crunchyroll doesn't have Scarlet Nexus for fans to watch, but luckily you can watch Scarlet Nexus on YouTube.
Right now, the first two episodes of Scarlet Nexus are available subtitled, and in HD, on Funimation's YouTube channel. We have no idea whether or not this trend will continue as more episodes are released, but it sets a nice precedent, and makes for a good alternative to piracy. The second episode is also available on the YouTube channel, but we don't know whether the third episode will also be made available, and when.
How To Watch Scarlet Nexus Anime Through Subscription
If you're a dedicated anime fans, then the subscription fee route is probably more your thing. You can watch Scarlet Nexus on Funimation, though the fee will cost you £4.99 per month in the UK, which can add up fast, especially if it's not the only subscription service you pay for. However, there are many more popular anime available on Funimation, so it's not a bad deal if you're also interested in watching the other things they have to offer.
Remember to watch regardless if you're playing the game, so you can get the DLC codes for items and content in the Scarlet Nexus game.
