Senran Kagura Series Celebrates 10th Anniversary With Special Trailer & Artwork

Today Marvelous Entertainment is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the popular Senran Kagura series.

The original game for 3DS launched on September 22, 2011, exactly ten years ago.

In order to celebrate, the publisher released a special trailer exploring the story of the series, and two illustrations by Nan Yaegashi portraying Asuka and Homura.

This may seem to be a bit ironic considering that the latest console game of the series hasn’t been published by Marvelous, but by Compile Heart. That being said, Marvelous still has Shinobi Master Senran Kagura New Link for mobile platforms, which is still going strong despite being quite old.

Interestingly, the press release encourages fans to pay close attention to the future developments for the franchise, so there’s still hope to see something new.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Senran Kagura franchise, it spawned a ton of games and spin-offs over the past ten years. The main series is currently on hold.

It was supposed to continue with Senran Kagura 7EVEN for PS4, but things pretty much ground to a halt due to stricter regulations from PlayStation, that seem to be in conflict with some of the elements included in Senran Kagura games.
