Silver Blue Eyes White Dragon Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Ebay $10,000

For whatever reason, trading cards are a highly prized commodity in this pandemic age. Some scalpers rove through grocery stores on the hunt for Pokemon cards, while Target has stopped selling cards entirely just as a safety precaution. And when rare and valuable cards are found, they typically sell for tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, or sometimes even millions of dollars.

In Yu-Gi-Oh!, there's no card more prized than the Blue-Eyes White Dragon. The signature card of anime villain Seto Kaiba, a limited-edition Blue-Eyes White Dragon recently surpassed $13 million in a Chinese auction before the feds stepped in to shut it down under suspicion of foul play. Money laundering via Yu-Gi-Oh! cards? It's more likely than you think.

Konami recently released another limited-edition Blue-Eyes White Dragon called the Premium Silver Blue-Eyes White Dragon. As part of Yu-Gi-Oh's new Masterpiece Series, this Blue-Eyes White Dragon is made of 99.9% pure silver. It's also locked behind an acrylic case so you'll never actually be able to play with it, but to collectors, the use-case of actual gameplay is less important than simply owning one of the 1,000 copies produced.

Konami initially sold the cards for $1,000/€1,000 on June 14, and they all sold out within three hours. There was so much demand, in fact, that the site was knocked out "due to overwhelming interest and hundreds of pre-orders being placed at once," according to Konami on Twitter.
