Metal Gear and Zelda have a lot in common. One is a game about fighting an evil patriarchy bent on ruling the world, and the other is about clones and weird giant robots.
And now you can merge these two storied franchises together so there’s no difference at all. The Solid Snake mod for The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker replaces Link with a chibi version of Solid Snake, including a teeny tiny knife and a gun.
The knife replaces Link’s sword, and he even wields it with a reverse-grip just like Solid Snake. The gun replaces the bow, and although it looks like a firearm, it still shoots arrows. Even Link’s Deku leaf glider has been replaced by Snake’s parachute.
The Solid Snake Mod was initially published way back in 2018, but as Polygon reports, a recent vital Twitter post rekindled interest in the mod (although the original Twitter post has since been removed). You can download the mod over on GameBanana, but keep in mind you’ll need an emulator and a “legally obtained copy of Wind Waker,” as per the mod page.
