Bertil Hörberg is a designer known for imbuing classic, retro video game experiences with modern touches and a whole lot of beautiful visual design. The Gunman Clive games took the spirit of Capcom’s Mega Man series and merged it with the wild west, while Mechstermination Force has vestiges of Contra with a focus on enormous boss fights (not unlike Cuphead). Now, Hörberg is ready to unleash a new game in another genre: Super Punch Patrol, which is his take on a brawler!

Super Punch Patrol hits Nintendo Switch in two weeks on September 17. Hörberg describes the project as having been made over the course over a few months during isolation as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Here’s a bit more from the man himself about what to expect from Super Punch Patrol:
In the year 202X crime and violence dominate the streets of Gravy City. The evil crime syndicate E.C.S. rules the city and controls most of the government and police force; only a handful officers remain unbent by corruption.
Police Chief Anders Punch decides to take desperate measures to clean up the streets. Together with his most trusted officers, Nils and Selma Snyting, he sets out to defeat the E.C.S. with only their fists.
