The Ascent: Where To Find Every Cyberdeck Upgrade For Hacking

Finding Cyberdeck upgrades is essential in The Ascent. Acquiring these upgrades will allow players to increase their ICE level, giving them access to even more locations in the city. Find eight of the ten, and gamers will be able to hack turrets and break their way through any access wall.

Many of the rare chests on the map are hidden behind ICE 1+ doors. These rare chests have unique items, including weapons, armor, augments, and modifications. Those that want the best gear in the game will want to hunt down all ten Cyberdeck upgrades in The Ascent. Many of these can be found in the first few hours of a playthrough.

Nearly all of the Cyberdeck upgrades are found off the beaten path. Most people will find a few by exploring different areas of the city. During missions, it is always a good idea to have a quick look around the playable areas before moving on. A Cyberdeck or rare chest may be right around the corner. Cyberdecks have a bright yellow glow, and unlike many items, they have fixed spawns in-game.

It should be noted that getting eight out of the ten upgrades will grant players the max ICE level of ICE 3, but those that collect all ten will get an achievement for their effort. When looking for the upgrades, players should check their map if they have trouble locating them. The Cyberdeck upgrades are all marked as white chests on the map. Some are in crates and others spawn on the ground at the crate icon location.

The first Cyberdeck can be found in Cluster 13. This is the first area gamers will explore that has vendors at the beginning of the game. Outside of the protected area of the Cluster, players will find the Cyberdeck on the top left corner of the map. Right behind the ship at the very edge of Cluster 13 lies the Cyberdeck.

Past Cluster 13 and the Rooftops is No Man's Land. There, people can pick up the next upgrade. Players should travel to the top center of the zone and look for a blue door with a health pack vending machine to the left of it. To the right of the door is a chest that contains the Cyberdeck.

Another Cyberdeck is located in the level 10 area called Black Lake Towers. People will make their way through the zone very early in the main story. Draw an imaginary line down from the O in towers and the Cyberdeck will be sitting right there. Look for a green lamp on the wall and blue light overhead.

Later in the game, indents will make their way to an area called Corpzone. It is surrounded by Rezdev, The Unbilical, and Gemini Stacks. On the edge of the left Corpzone, the upgrade can be found below the Chinese lanterns. Pull up the map and look out for a chest icon at that location.

The following upgrade is in Nitroad, which is between Gratitude and Black Lake Towers. Look for the chest icon on the map for a precise location, as there is no best route to this small hut. The upgrade will be locked behind an ICE 2 barrier, so make sure to pick up the previous Cyberdecks to be able to hack in.

Another Cyberdeck can be found in the Cosmodrome. In the top left corner of the zone, there will be a long corridor lined with computer stations and televisions. At the top end of the corridor, there is a large rest chest. Loot the chest to get the upgrade.

Further into the questline, people will make their way through Deepstink. During the "Enter the AG OPS Data Vault" objective, gamers will need to take one of the larger lifts down to the lower levels.

Not too far from there, a chest icon will show up on the mini-map. The icon to the right will be the Cyberdeck upgrade.

In a subsequent mission, indents will be tasked with finding someone named Lanier. This location can be hard to find, but it will spoil the story. Look to the mini map for the chest icon while there, it will be a Cyberdeck upgrade.

Players will make their way through the Exmat Lab just after the Lanier mission. At the end of the first hallway, they will spot the ninth Cyberdeck if they take a peek at their map.

It is no surprise that the final Cyberdeck will appear near the end of the main story in Pinnacle. On the right side of the map travel to the bottom end of the courtyard next to the railing. The tenth and final Cyberdeck is sitting there.
