The Best Armor In The Witcher: Monster Slayer, Ranked | Game Rant

The Witcher: Monster Slayer is different from other mobile games of its ilk for one important reason: the gear. Players can equip a variety of Steel and Silver Swords, toss Bombs and apply Oils to their weapons, and even don Armor that confers special bonuses to their wearer.

The Armor in The Witcher: Monster Slayer is similar in appearance to the various Witcher School armor from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and their bonuses relate to each School's specialty. Armor isn't cheap, though, and players can expect to farm Daily Contracts for a short while before being able to afford even the cheapest alternative option.

7 Basic Witcher Armor (Adept's Armor)

  • Cost: FREE! (Automatically given to players)
  • Bonus: None

The Basic Witcher armor, called the Adept's Armor in-game, is the default armor given to every player upon launching the game (and finishing the "Final Test" introductory segment). It doesn't confer any bonuses, unlike the other available armors.

It's a snazzy scaled-leather jerkin with a black and gold color scheme thematic of the Nilfgaardian Empire's aesthetics in the third Witcher game. Aside from that, though, there's not much that's special about this basic armor set.

6 Feline Armor

  • Cost: 3400 Gold
  • Bonus: Reduces damage from unblocked enemy attacks by 15%

The Feline Armor is a blue and white set that embodies the Cat in its bonus, just as its associated Witcher School takes its teachings from the animal. When taking damage that a player fails to Parry correctly, it is reduced by a small amount with this Armor equipped.

The Feline Armor has a small bonus, all things considered, and it's not useful for players who can easily weave their Attacks and Parries together. For players just starting out, though, the Feline Armor can give a good boost to one's chances of survival while learning the game's mechanics.

5 Wolven Armor

  • Cost: 6800 Gold
  • Bonus: Adds 50% chance to find extra Alchemy Ingredients from downed foes

The Wolven Armor is a short, layered, red and black top with spiked shoulders. It's based on the Wolf School, Geralt's own Witcher school, and while it has an intimidating appearance it is most useful for players who want to craft items more efficiently.

The Wolven Armor gives a whopping 50% bonus chance to find extra Alchemy Ingredients after killing an enemy. Some enemy types are rarer than others, like Specters, and the chance to find more of their rare materials comes in handy over and over again. It's a lot of Gold to spend, though, so be prepared to take on every Quest and Daily Contract available.

4 Ursine Armor

  • Cost: 3400 Gold
  • Bonus: Negates 80% of Critical Hit Meter depletion when receiving unparried damage

The Ursine Armor is a trickier piece of gear whose bonus isn't quite as clear-cut as other Armors. It's gear from the Bear School, and features green and beige linens over a prominent chainmail layer. The bonus conferred by this armor is accordingly mighty, reducing depletion of the Critical Hit gauge by 80% when taking damage.

Similar to the Feline Armor, the Ursine Armor is less useful for players who have mastered Parrying and weaving their Fast and Strong Attacks. The reduction in Critical Hit depletion can mean the difference between getting one last Critical hit on an enemy or being finished off yourself.

3 Griffin Armor

  • Cost: 6800 Gold
  • Bonus: 10% of Parried damage is reflected back to enemies

The Griffin Armor is a green and gold padded armor set from the Witcher School of the Griffin, which puts emphasis on agility in combat. When successfully Parrying damage, 10% is reflected back at your assailant. This can stack with other damage-reflecting abilities, such as certain options in the Signs skill tree.

The Griffin Armor is one of the few sets of armor that skilled The Witcher: Monster Slayer players can take full advantage of. It procs on successful Parries, not just Perfect Parries, and it's especially powerful against Monsters at the one or two-skull difficulty, as their damage is way higher than "easy" foes.

2 Kaer Morhen Armor

  • Cost: 12000 Gold
  • Bonus: Monster-killing Experience is increased by 25% across the board

The Kaer Morhen Armor is an iconic piece of armor to The Witcher 3 and accordingly is one of the best options for gear in The Witcher: Monster Slayer. Its appearance is a mix of chainmail, dark leather, and green linens, just like in the game, and it gives a flat bonus of 25% extra Experience for killing foes in the game.

This Armor's bonuses stack with others throughout the game, such as the Kaer Morhen Steel Sword or the Silver Sword A'Baeth. It's the most expensive piece of gear in the game, though, and it can take months of farming to naturally amass enough Gold to purchase one.

1 Manticore Armor

  • Cost: 6800 Gold
  • Bonus: Automatically gives the player "White Gull" effect, which doubles other Potion effects.

The Manticore Armor set is far and away the most powerful piece of armor in The Witcher: Monster Slayer, not necessarily for its meta benefits or experience increase, but for sheer damage numbers. This piece of gear appears mostly black adorned with wide leather straps, and automatically doubles the effect of all other equipped Potions before a battle.

The White Gull potion is an equippable potion in the game later on in progression, but the Manticore Armor applies its effect without taking up a precious potion slot. While the Ursine and Feline armor both increase flat damage, this armor has the potential to turn a player into a wrecking ball of destruction or an unkillable health hoarder.
