Forever Entertainment have officially announced The House of the Dead: Remake, and that it will be coming to Nintendo Switch.
A remake of the first arcade game in the series, players command AMS agent Thomas Rogan and his partner G, answering a distress call from his fiancée. They find it coming from the Curien Mansion, overrun by hideous experiments of life and death.
Players enter the on-rails light gun-style gameplay, blasting their way through hordes of zombies, and the far more monstrous creatures in the depths of the mansion. Avoid hitting kidnapped civilians, and carefully manage when to reload; so not to leave yourself vulnerable just as something is about to claw at your throat.
Forever Entertainment’s 2019 financial report and a report by Forsal suggests the game is in development for Windows PC (via the Epic Games Store, and Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Google Stadia. However, no official announcement beyond the Nintendo Switch platform has been made.
The financial report also mentions Sega signed a contract for not only The House of the Dead: Remake, but also The House of the Dead 2: Remake. Forever Entertainment had previously announced they were working on several remakes; however this was on behalf of Square Enix.
