Embracer Group has revealed that Viking survival game Valheim sold another 1.1 million units between April and June. This means Valheim's total sales reached an astonishing 8 million copies sold since its Early Access launch in February.
The Swedish holding company shared new Valheim statistics on Twitter, revealing the title remains very popular among PC players — and continues to be an impressive commercial success. As of June 30, the game from Iron Gate Studio developer has sold 7.9 million copies. It’s safe to assume this number exceeded 8 million during the past month and a half.
Previously, Embracer reported back in May that Valheim had almost reached 7 million units sold. At the time, the conglomerate expected the game to sell another 1.0-1.2 million copies by the end of June, and it looks like those projections were spot on.

The indie hit has been quite popular after launching via Steam Early Access. Just in the first few days, Valheim sold a million units only to reach over five million during the first month on sale. The title’s all-time player peak counts at 500,000 players on Steam with 10 to 30 thousand concurrent players in the past few weeks.
Embracer also revealed the team behind Valheim has grown to a total of eight members, who will continue to further support and develop new updates for the experience. Valheim’s next big update, called Hearth and Home, is still on schedule to arrive before the end of the summer, bringing with it an overhauled food system with dozens of new meals, stacks of cash and coins, a treasure chest, and more.
Apart from Valheim's figures, Embracer also revealed that Chivalry 2 has already managed to sell more than 1 million units, which makes it the fastest-selling game ever for Torn Banner Studios. In addition, Biomutant has also reached 1 million copies sold since its launch in May, and successfully recouped all production costs.
