Ubisoft has dropped a new Watch Dogs: Legion trailer for the first time featuring futuristic assassin Darcy — a member of the British Assassin’s Brotherhood. She will be a new playable character for season pass owners starting August 24.
The Watch Dogs: Legion developers long ago teased a crossover event with the Assassin’s Creed franchise, one that would bring a unique character to the hacker series. Darcy is a brand-new character, who has never before appeared in any of the AC games, yet she possesses all the necessary attributes, including a white cloak and the order’s signature hidden blade. Her outfit also stands out with its high-tech wrist braces and intimidating face mask.

Players will be able to play as Darcy during the story campaign or in online modes. In the trailer below, she displayed her spectacular combat and stealth skills, gracefully and effectively putting enemies down with her hidden blade. While her assassin’s sight was not shown just yet, she probably uses some miniature drone to scout the ground from above.
The new footage reveals quite some interesting stuff for the Assassin’s Creed franchise fans, like the underground hideout with the statues of the iconic characters from previous entries. Black Flag’s Edward Kenway alongside Syndicate’s Evie and Jacob Frye can be seen, indicating they are the most respected assassins in the UK. There’s also one “precious tomb” featuring Isu’s references and possibly even some of their ancient artifacts inside.
If you’re expecting some major changes for the Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed universes at this point, you’d better drop the idea. The devs previously said Darcy is pure fanservice and is not considered canon.
Darcy and her story missions will be available as part of Watch Dogs: Legion's update 5.5, featuring free content for all players. This includes two additional story missions, new challenges, world events, and more.
At this point, Darcy is the final piece of post-launch content coming to Watch Dogs: Legion, with nothing more remaining on the season pass. It is possible Ubisoft will continue to support the game further, but nothing has been officially announced.
