There are many subquests in Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, and while most are simply a case of defeating specific monsters or collecting certain items, there are a handful of subquests that require a little more work on your part.

The X Marks the Spot! subquest that you get from the Relaxed Man in Kuan Village requires you to track down the treasure by following specific clues and visiting different locations. We've got a full guide right here on exactly where you need to go and when.
First Clue
The first clue you have is that you need to find the "pirate's beach".
Head to the Sailor's Beach catavan fast travel point. Head to the location shown above and there will be a glowing gathering point with a question mark for you to interact with.
Second Clue
The second clue you have is to find "a beautiful place where water forever pours from up high".
Fast travel to North Kamuna Cape and then go to Hapuna Falls in the location shown above and interact with the next gathering spot for the next clue.
Third Clue
Your final clue is "a place within the sands of death" and "soaking up the day's sunshine to release into the night".
Fast travel to anywhere in West Lamure Desert (the Monster Research Lab in the closest catavan point) and ensure that you choose "evening". Head towards the Zeramon Oasis in the location shown above to find the treasure. Now you can return to the quest NPC in Kuan Village and complete the subquest.
