xQc Banned From Twitch, Reason Still Unclear

Twitch streamer xQc has once again been banned from the platform. The reason for his latest ban is still unclear, but this marks the fifth time that Twitch has suspended him.

According to Twitch tracking website Streamer Bans, xQc's longest stint in Twitch purgatory was seven days, and his most recent offense was last month when he was banned for just five hours. According to Dexerto, his last suspension was over DMCA live strike involving the Olympic Committee.

xQc has yet to comment on the situation himself, but plenty of his usual viewers have speculated that it's likely again from DMCA-related claims. Plenty of comments from the streamer's official Subreddit include people noting xQc's habit of streaming other videos and watching them live, some of which recently included the Olympics again. Ultimately, it's still all speculation.

Earlier this year, xQc was named the Most Watched Streamer in a 2020 alongside Valkyrae in a report from Stream Hatchet. And while he's the streamer currently seeing suspension, xQc also called for content creators like Amouranth and Indiefoxx to receive bans for participating in Twitch's bizarre 'ASMR fart streams'.

xQc isn't the only banned Twitch personality to recently circulating in the news, either. While he's permanently gone from the platform, Dr Disrespect continues to his career on other services, and just recently announced he'll be partnering with other "mega influencers" to create his own game studio. Between that, and his desire to team up with Netflix and its new streaming platform, a ban doesn't seem to do much to some of the biggest creators.
