You Can Sign Up To Beta Test Razer’s RGB Face Mask

Let's be honest–we all thought Razer's RGB face mask was a joke when it was first revealed at CES 2021. But then they confirmed it wasn't a joke in May and then confirmed even more of the mask's details during its E3 2021 presentation. Now, the joke is on us.

Razer has renamed Project Hazel the Razer Zephyr and announced a community beta test to begin in the coming weeks.

To sign up, head on over to Razer's website to fill out your personal info, including, name, address, social media accounts, and a short paragraph on why you want to be a Zephyr beta tester. It looks like Razer is searching for influencers to help advertise the Zephyr ahead of its release, but even if you've only got a few dozen followers, it doesn't hurt to apply.

In case you weren’t there for either CES or E3 2021, the Razer Zephyr is a sustainable attempt at a COVID-19-preventing face mask. The form-fitting plastic contains an N-95 compliant filter with 99% BFE. Its filters also last three times as long as regular surgical masks and use 80% less materials.

To prevent your voice from being muzzled, there's a built-in microphone and speaker as well as an anti-fog coating on the see-through plastic so that people can see your facial expressions. To an extent, anyways–the filters are relatively large and the RGB lighting is likely to be way more distracting than your pearly whites.

The RGB isn't just for show. The brightness of the lights doubles as a charge indicator for the batteries.

Zephyr is due to go on sale in Q4 2021 and is just another example of Razer branching out into sustainable product offerings. Although they won't protect you from COVID, the Sneki Snek slippers will keep your feet warm, are made of 100% recycled materials, and every pair sold will help save trees.
