American McGee has stated that he is "ready" for another Alice game with EA.
Following the announcement of a Dead Space remake from EA and EA Motive, American McGee took to Twitter to state his interest in returning to making Alice games with the publisher, or to at least get permission to carry the series on.

American McGee said, "While I (and Alice fans) would have liked the next EA horror project to be a new "Alice" game… this does at least move us forward in line. At some point in the future, execs at EA will shout "need moar product!" and someone will reply, "Alice?" And we'll be ready!"
American McGee's words come off as slightly sarcastic towards EA here, but it does seem like he's genuinely interested in returning to the world of Alice with EA. Over the past few years American McGee has outlined what a future Alice game would look like, Alice: Asylum, and has created a Patreon for the game. Progress has been going on since 2018, and has recently seen Alice's 3D model created for the game, although whether it will come to light is still up to EA.
Alice: Asylum has previously been intended to be crowdfunded, with McGee trying to get the license from EA, but there hasn't been any movement on that front over the past few years, besides McGee saying that discussions were going smoothly back in 2019. Whether McGee still wants to crowdfund the game or work with EA again isn't too clear, but his Tweet implies he'd be happy just to have the series return.
When asked if McGee would want a future Alice game to be a remake of the first or second title or something brand new, American McGee directed attention over to Alice Asylum, saying, "We've completely outlined the new game over on Patreon. It's called "Alice: Asylum" and it spans past-present-future for Alice's story. If you aren't following along with our progress then you're missing out."
