Call of Duty: Warzone’s Paciific Map Caldera Has Been Pushed to Launch After the Halo Infinite Campaign
Call of Duty: Warzone’s pacific map, which was originally scheduled to launch on December 2nd, has officially been delayed to December 9th. Unfortunately, Activision did not provide any reason regarding the delay, but the new schedule does drop the map—as well as Vanguard’s debut season—directly on top of the much-awaited Halo Infinite campaign.
“Season 1 of Vanguard and Warzone Pacific will now release on December 8,” Call of Duty devs wrote on social media. “Vanguard owners will have 24-hour exclusive first play access to the Caldera map; Open access begins on December 9.”
As previously mentioned, players who already own Call of Duty: Vanguard are going to be able to experience the game’s new map 24 hours ahead of everyone else. A rep from Activision also confirmed that the full release of the franchise’s all-new Ricochet anti-cheat system has also been pushed to the same new release date.
With that said, it is safe to say that Call of Duty’s Last Days of Verdansk event for Warzone players has also been extended until December 8th. All players will be able to begin their Caldera map experience starting on December 9th.
Many Call of Duty: Warzone fans believe that Activision decided to delay it to avoid being massacred by the release of the Halo Infinite campaign. Fans may never really know. However, it is worth noting that the announcement about the delay was made not too long after reports of complaints regarding Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick. Kotick has been accused of allegedly covering up instances of sexual harassment within the company. Hundreds of Activision staff walked in protest and called for Kotick to leave his position as the company’s CEO.
This much-awaited Call of Duty: Warzone pacific map is considered to be the biggest change for the game’s battle royale mode since it was launched last March. Caldera will be taking players back to the World War 2 era in a much sunnier environment with new points of interest.
