Dark Fantasy RPG Black Book Launches August 10

HypeTrain Digital and developer Morteshka have announced the released date of dark fantasy RPG Black Book.

As previously reported, the Morteshka developed game is set in 19th century Russia, and is heavily inspired by Slavic folklore and mythology. It follows Vasilisa, a fledgling witch, as she tries to break all seven seals on the Black Book so she can resurrect her lover.

Black Book features card-based combat as Vasilisa travels across the countryside performing exorcisms for the villagers. Players will collect new cards, represented as pages in the Black Book, as they investigate demonic activity and battle malicious creatures. The game’s Kickstarter campaign initially had a funding goal of $35,000 USD, and reached over $163,000 USD.

The game will be available for $24.99 USD (€24.99 EUR, £19.99 GBP) and promises over 20 hours of gameplay and over 150,000 words. A Supporter pack DLC will also be available for $10 USD, including the game’s soundtrack and digital artbook.
