Epic Games brings some of the biggest celebrities to its popular battle royale game Fortnite. There have been appearances from artists such as pop singer Ariana Grande, EDM artist Marshmello, and even the Fortnite World Cup winner, Bugha (AKA Kyle Giersdorf). And now, Epic is adding another superstar to the game as a new skin, and this time it's the Columbian artist known as the "Prince of Reggaeton," J Balvin.
The singer joins the Fortnite Icon series and brings along the J Balvin set in the item shop. The set consists of the J Balvin Outfit, an Emote, Glider, and a "Back Bling that unsheathes as a Pickaxe," according to the official Fortnite blog post from Epic Games. Fans will be able to purchase the set from the item shop starting August 26, 2021, at 8 PM ET. However, there is a way to get the skin earlier (and for free).

How to Get J Balvin Skin Early in Fortnite
Although the skin releases on August 26, Fortnite players can get the outfit on August 24 by competing in the J Balvin Cup. The special cup is a Duos tournament, in which two players must work together to earn as many points in their respective region in a three-hour time frame.
Players can compete in a maximum of 10 matches to earn points towards the cup. Epic also wants players to remember that they will need to have 2FA enabled in Fortnite and be at least level 30 before participating. Those that score enough points will be rewarded with the J Balvin skin and the Back Bling/Pickaxe.
La Fiesta Event in Fortnite
For even more J Balvin fun, Fortnite players can experience an event called "La Fiesta" from August 26 to September 9. It's a community-made experience that is centered all around the Columbian music artist. It'll definitely give fans of the singer something to look forward to.
Fortnite Season 7 may be coming to a close soon, but there are still many quests and challenges that players can dive into to unlock all of the Battle Pass rewards. There's no official confirmation on what's in store for Season 8, but some leaks point towards Fortnite getting a new open-world fantasy RPG limited-time mode.
Fortnite is currently free-to-play on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
