Ghost Of Tsushima Director’s Cut Can Now Preload On PS5 & PS4

It's a bit early to get excited, but Ghost Of Tsushima Director's Cut appears to be available to pre-load today. This news comes courtesy of the PlayStation Game Size Twitter account, which helpfully provided us with download sizes. To download the PS5 version of the game, you'll need 58 GB of space, while the PS4 version will require just 39 GB.

The Director's Cut doesn't officially release until August 20, so there's still a week left to go. When it does arrive, you can expect to receive all previously released Ghost of Tsushima DLC, the brand new Iki Island expansion, 3D audio enhancements on the PS5, DualSense integration for haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, and cutscenes that will feature lip sync on the Japanese audio.

And if you've got the PS5 version, you'll gain new options for 4K or 60 fps game modes.

Even if you don't want to buy the Director's Cut, Ghost of Tsushima owners will enjoy a free update alongside the PS5 upgrade's release. This free update will feature improvements to photo mode, new accessibility, options, a target lock-on mechanic during combat, and a new game mode which we're still waiting for the details.

We are getting a lot of info on the upcoming Iki Island expansion, which will be roughly the same length as a single chapter in the base game. You'll be able to tame both cats and monkeys in case you wanted your ancient Japan simulator to be a little more furry-friendly, and there will be all-new skills and difficulty scaling depending on your level when you enter the expansion.

"If you've already gone all the way to the end of the game, it's not like it's going to be a breeze," art director Jason Connell said in a recent interview. "It's still going to have a challenge for you, which is important considering the way that we've implemented this."

Get to downloading so you can start playing Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut on August 20.
