Ghost Of Tsushima Players Have Pet 55 Million Sacred Foxes

It’s Ghost of Tsushima’s first anniversary, and Sucker Punch has provided plenty of in-game statistics of what players have been getting up to. The numbers include the amount of foxes that have been pet, and how many pictures have been taken while exploring the breathtaking scenery of Tsushima Island.

In the last 12 months, Ghost of Tsushima players have had 679.2 million standoffs with Mongol invaders and 333.1 million private samurai duels. During that time, 68.5 million haiku poems were written and 61 million in-game photos were taken in the game’s impressive photo mode.

Animals are a huge part of your Tsushima experience, so it is no surprise the players spent 4241 years in total on horseback, and pet 55.63 million sacred foxes in just 12 months. In fact, that number should be a lot higher, don’t you agree?

The free Legends update, released in October, was also a big deal in the community, judging by the stats. Players have completed 40.76 million missions, and 60.1 million Spirit dogs were summoned during these activities.

This isn't the only way Sucker Punch is marking the anniversary. In Legends mode, the devs have re-enabled unique outfits inspired by iconic PlayStation characters. You can unlock the God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, Shadow of the Colossus, and Bloodborne costumes by completing any mission with each class. Originally these outfits were available for a limited time during the winter Holiday season.

Despite Ghost of Tsushima not being the game Sony expected from Sucker Punch, the title has been a huge success, as seen through how quickly it became the fastest-selling original IP debut on the PS4. 6.5 million copies later, the game is now getting a director's cut.

Ghost of Tsushima is another example of Sony’s new strategy to re-release its PS4 hits on PS5. The open-world samurai action is getting its own treatment on August 20 and will include the new Iki Island DLC alongside Japanese lip-sync, haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support, 3D Audio enhancements, faster load times, and increased resolution and framerate. The director’s cut will also be available for PS4.
