How To Get Chompy In Bug Fables

Bug Fables is an indie game inspired by the original Paper Mario titles. There is a lot of content and love placed into this title, including optional boss fights and quests that you can take on to learn more about the world. One such bit of optional content can give you a new companion named Chompy, who can actually assist your team in battle.

To get him, though, you will need to locate Bug Fables Chomper Seed, which isn't a part of the main story. The guide below goes over everything you need to know about the item, from the location of the Chomper Seed, to how to best use Chompy in battle.

Navigating Chomper Cave

In order to get the Chomper Seed, you will need to head to Chomper Cave which is located on the Golden Path. The cave can be found on the underside of the Golden Path and is rather small in size. Take note of the crack located in the cave's second area, as there is a Berserker Medal you can pick up inside of it. Once you have it, head further in to find the boss room where you will encounter the Mother Chomper

Getting The Chomper Seed

In order to get the Chomper Seed, you will now need to defeat the Mother Chomper successfully. This isn't a particularly dangerous fight as long as you are leveled, especially since Mother Chomper is weak against ice attacks. She can heal herself by five points and use pollen to put party members to sleep, so come prepared. Mother Chomper has 50 health with a defense of one; she also can't be put to sleep or frozen. Steadily weaken her while watching your health and use Leif's icy attacks to your advantage.

After she is defeated, you will receive the Chomper Seed. You will need to take it to Professor Honeycomb once you have met the following requirements:

  • Received The Heaven Key
  • Obtained The Tardigrade Shield Metal

Once these requirements have been met, you will get a new optional helper named Chompy to assist your party in battle.

Using Chompy

Chompy can be used in battle as a supportive character and has a base attack of two. While in battle, he can attack enemies, change his ribbon to match the situation, or do nothing at all. There are five ribbons in all that you can collect for Chompy, and they are an integral part of using him in battle.
