Halo Infinite’s Release Date Appears To Have Been Leaked

A Taiwanese retailer appears to have revealed when Halo Infinite is slated to launch, listing the upcoming game's release date as December 8, 2021.

Halo fans have been waiting for a very long time for the next installment in the series. Longer than ever before as a matter of fact. It has been six years since Halo 5 launched, the longest gap so far between Halo games. Even if Halo Infinite had launched alongside the Xbox Series X|S as planned it would have still set a new record in that regard.

343 Industries recently revealed two of Infinite's modes, multiplayer co-op and Forge, will not be here until 2022. That has those eagerly awaiting the game's arrival worried that the rest of the game will follow. However, a retail listing in Taiwan has offered a glimmer of hope. The listing, which you can check out below, has Infinite arriving on December 8, 2021.

Idle Sloth, who posted the listing, also highlighted a detail that might mean it isn't entirely accurate. It still mentions Forge which, as stated above, won't be added to Infinite until next year. It could simply be a slightly outdated listing as the delay to Forge was only just announced. It also doesn't state that Forge will be available at launch, the listing merely makes mention of it.

343 does appear to be doing all that it can to make sure Infinite is here before the end of 2021, even if that means holding off on including certain parts of the game until 2022. The game's first technical test has already taken place, and a second featuring 4v4 and big team battle has been announced. When exactly that test will take place is yet to be revealed.

There have also been a number of leaks highlighting that most of the game's elements appear to be in place, albeit not necessarily complete or ready to go. One leak shows off 30 of Infinite's helmets, while a more extensive one lists some of the weapons, vehicles, and more that will be included. It's possible Xbox announces something later today during Gamescom's Opening Night Live. Windows Central's Jez Corden tweeted Xbox fans will want to tune in tonight, a sentiment with which host Geoff Keighley appears to agree.
