Necrobarista Final Pour Is A Director’s Cut And Timed Exclusive, Out Today On Switch

Earlier today, Nintendo held a brand-new Indie World showcase to discuss new and upcoming indie games coming to the Nintendo Switch. During the 20-minute showcase, Nintendo offered a look at new titles like Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, TOEM, and Loop Hero that would soon make their way onto the Switch. However, one of the more exciting reveals during the showcase was the news that Necrobarista: Final Pour would be heading to the Switch today. The extended director’s cut of the game will be a timed exclusive for Nintendo and will include hours of new content, remastered visuals, and bonus gameplay modes.

Necrobarista is a visual novel that takes place within a Melbourne Café that has strong supernatural elements. Necrobarista focuses on a cast of equally interesting and mysterious characters that are undead. These “ghosts” have been granted a final night to spend in the land of the living, and the player gains a better understanding of this supernatural world through interactions with these characters. It is a fun take on the visual novel medium and one that we called "equal parts bleak and hopeful, bitter and sweet, macabre and magical" in our review of the game.

The game was originally released for iOS via the Apple Arcade in July of last year, followed by a Steam release a few days later. The game has been praised for its unique take on the visual novel genre through a blend of 3D animation and an “anime” art style. Unlike many visual novels that only allow players to choose from a list of dialogue options, Necrobarista lets the player fully explore a 3D environment, creating a more immersive experience.

The director's cut of the game adds a bunch of new content for players to explore, including a studio mode that lets players use assets from the game to craft and tell their own unique stories in this universe. The director's cut also offers remastered visuals and new story content to experience. While there are plans for the game to make its way to other consoles, like the PlayStation 4, for now, it will remain a timed release on the Switch. You can pick up a copy of Necrobarista: Final Pour on the Nintendo eShop for $18.69 today.
