Amazon's ambitious MMO, New World, will be holding an open beta on September 9 – 12, 2021. In a trailer revealed during Gamescom, the stage has been set for players to embark on their journies across the continent of Aeternum. The appropriately titled "Chart Your Fate" trailer showcases an increased focus on naval combat and how players can team up together to do battle with various creatures.
This latest beta is running to test server capacity for when New World launches on September 28, 2021. Running in various different languages, players in North America, Europe, Australia, and South America can request access to the beta starting September 8 by heading to the official New World website. This latest test will still not be the full server capacity of the final game, but will host larger servers than the previous test.

If you're a streamer or incredibly active on social media, Amazing is giving you permission to post anything you'd like from the beta. There seems to be the stipulation of indicating this is the open beta versus final code, but that goes without saying for most people. What else is self-evident is that progress will not carry over from the beta to the final build.
For anyone that currently has New World installed from before, you will need to redownload the game via Steam for this open beta. That's unfortunate, especially considering the file size, but it likely is necessary for the number of changes coming. Hopefully, this beta won't fry hard to get GPUs.
