Pokemon Legends: Arceus Digital Copy Includes Free Heavy Balls

If you order a digital copy of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Nintendo has revealed you'll receive 30 Heavy Balls free of charge.

25 years on from its first introduction to the world, it's pretty remarkable that Pokemon continues to find new ways to spin the multi-billion dollar franchise. Its first foray into the mobile world via Pokemon Unite, filling the world with Pokemon via Pokemon Go, and next year Pokemon Legends: Arceus, the first-ever open-world Pokemon game.

As was confirmed during last week's Pokemon Presents, Legends: Arceus will arrive on Nintendo Switch on January 28, 2022. Even though there's still five months to go until you can play the game, you can order it now. There will be a handy gift available to you if you buy a digital copy of the game: 30 Heavy Balls.

Heavy Balls, as the name implies, are designed to be used to help trainers catch heavier Pokemon Snorlax, Wailord, and other big monsters you might happen upon. As has been shown off in Arceus's trailers, Heavy Balls and other Pokeballs will look a little different in the Hisui region than they have done in other games. Makes sense since the game is set hundreds of years before the events of Diamond and Pearl. Before the region had even been dubbed Sinnoh.

Heavy Balls aren't the only gifts on offer for picking up a copy of Legends: Arceus. If you grab a copy of the open-world game, physical or digital, before May 9, 2022, then you will also receive a Hisuian Growlithe Kimono Set for your trainer. The Hisuian form of the gen one Pokemon was revealed via last week's trailer along with some brand new Pokemon that had never been seen before.

Legends: Arceus will mark the end of what has been a very busy 25th anniversary for Pokemon. New Pokemon Snap and Pokemon Unite have already been released, and Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl will be here before Arceus arrives. Still a lot more for Pokemon fans to get excited about, including the long-awaited arrival of Blastoise in Unite on September 1.
